Originally known as Seven Mile, this historic mill town has been a haven for homesteaders, loggers and weary wayfarers since 1858. Wagons once rolled through Seven Mile carrying miners and supplies along the old Carson Wagon Road, from San Francisco to the Comstock Lode. The Pony Express exchanged tired horses and riders at Seven Mile while delivering mail between Sacramento, CA and St. Joseph's, MO. Source: Camino Hotel
