DMOZ Live Features

DMOZLive.com publishes an enhanced version of the well-known DMOZ Internet Directory with a mobile-friendly, modern interface. In addition, the web site supports full-text search of the directory contents in 91 languages.

The directory published by DMOZLive.com is made available through a Creative Commons Attribution license from the DMOZ organization. As an Open Source project, DMOZ is the only directory of its kind that provides its data 100% free.

About the DMOZ Internet Directory

The official DMOZ site, which was owned and operated by AOL, helped millions of Internet users make sense of the web since 1998. DMOZ was the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It was constructed and maintained by a passionate, global community of volunteers editors. It was historically known as the Open Directory Project (ODP).

The official DMOZ.com site was closed by AOL on February 17th 2017. DMOZ Live is committed to continuing to make the DMOZ Internet Directory available on the Internet. This site publishes the official final version of the directory. We would like to thank all the dedicated DMOZ editors for their tireless work since the directory’s inception in 1998.

Site Submissions and Removal Requests

DMOZLive began receiving frequent requests for directory updates after the closure of the offical DMOZ.com site. In response, a self-serve submission portal was created for adding new sites, updating existing site listings, and for site removal.
