The AC-119G "Shadow" was designed to replace the AC-47 until additional AC-130's could come on line. It had four 7.62mm miniguns and was generally regarded as "underpowered" for the mission. In terms of capability, it was about equal to the AC-47.

71st SOS Homepage - Recognizes the 71st Tactical Airlift Squadron of the 434th Tactical Airlift Wing from Columbus, Indiana, which deployed AC-119G gunships into the Vietnam.
