Named for former Kentucky Governor Felix Grundy, the town was founded in 1858 as the seat for Buchanan County, VA. Situated at Routes US 460 and VA 83, Grundy straddles mountains and weaves along the Levisa River and Slate Creek. Currently, the town is undergoing a major renovation as it moves completely to the other side of the Levisa River. Population is near 1000.
