Cambridge is a small town located in the southeastern region of Ohio. Local history states that the first legal bridge in the Northwest Territory was that built by Ebenezer Zane over Wills Creek. Zane was commissioned in 1796 to cut a road from Ohio to Kentucky, and named the area in honor of Cambridge, Maryland. In 1806, a group of immigrants from the Isle of Guernsey, in the English Channel, settled in the newly formed village of Cambridge, because, according to the legend, the women in the party refused to move on. Today, Cambridge is located at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 77, making it a popular tourist destination. The area boasts many recreational facilities, tourist attractions, a public library, schools, churches, parks, and business and social clubs.
