The Capital District of New York, located 150 miles north of New York City on the Hudson River, consists of the major cities of Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga, along with their suburbs. This area is sometimes also referred to as the "Upper Hudson" to differentiate it from the Hudson Valley communities further south.
