Croton-on-Hudson is a village of about 7,000 in Westchester County on the Hudson River, located 33 miles north of Manhattan. Croton is known for the New Croton Dam that forms the Croton Reservoir which supplies a large portion of New York City's drinking water. In addition, the Harmon train yards are located in Croton, along with the Croton-Harmon station, served by Amtrak and Metro-North commuter railroad.
