Zippel Township, organized in 1999, is northwest of Baudette and north of Williams, in Lake of the Woods County. Its neighbor to the east is Wheeler Township, and to the north is Prosper Township. Zippel includes Zippel Bay, on Lake of the Woods, and part of Zippel Bay State Park.
