Havelock is a small town in Pocahontas County, northwest Iowa. It has a population of about 180, and is part of the Pocahontas Area Community school district. Havelock has the distinction of being the first community in the country to have all its telephone lines underground, going from rural party lines directly to touchtone phones. It is the home of Northwest Internet, a provider of internet service to a wide area of northwest Iowa.
