Southwest Florida Water Management District - One of five statewide districts charged with protecting water resources, including basins and associated aquifers in sixteen counties loosely centered around Fort Myers. Water Resources - Department of Environmental Protection portal offers link to water data as well as funding opportunities and research studies. Florida Water and Pollution Control Operator's Association - An association of operators in the water, wastewater, stormwater and reclaimed water industries. Florida's Springs: Protecting Nature's Gems - An educational, photo-documentary exploring efforts to protect Florida's freshwater springs and aquifer. Includes K-12 activities and a photographic expedition. University of Florida Water Resources Research Center - Coordination and funding of research projects in the state. Includes project abstracts, reports and publications, calls for papers and upcoming conferences, and links. Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program - Partnership that protects the Charlotte Harbor estuaries from Venice to Estero Bay. Includes maps, newsletters, and information about projects. Florida Lake Management Society - Promotes protection, enhancement, conservation, restoration, and management of state lakes and other aquatic resources. Organization news, history, newsletters, and information about grants, conferences, and other programs and activities. Water's Journey: The River Returns - Multi-media educational web documentary about Florida's St. Johns River, including photos, text, and Flash videos about the river and efforts to protect its watershed. Everglades Digital Library - Online clearinghouse for information about the Everglades, maintained by Florida International University in Miami in cooperation with various government agencies, museums, and other universities. Northwest Florida Water Management District - One of five statewide districts charged with protecting water resources, including basins and tributaries for St. Marks River, Perdido River, Choctawatchee River, Apalachicola River, and associated aquifers. South Florida Water Management District Databases - One of five statewide districts charged with protecting water resources, including the Kissimmee River, the Everglades, Lake Okeechobee, and coastal areas from the Indian River Lagoon south to the Florida Keys. St. Johns Riverkeeper - Privately funded ombudsman looking after the ecological health of the river in Northeast Florida. Scientific and geological data, links to parent organization and sponsors. Suwannee River Water Management District - Office charged with protecting water resources in north central Florida, including basins and tributaries for the Suwanee River. West Coast Inland Navigation District - Tasked with the management/maintenance of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Anclote Key (north of Tampa Bay) to the Caloosahatchee River (south of Ft. Myers). St Johns River Water Management District - Office charged with protecting water resources in the St. Johns River basin of northeast Florida, based in Palatka. South Florida Water Management District - Provides access to the general and permanent policies and procedures of the district.
