The San Carlos Indian Reservation is located in the Salt River Canyon area of Arizona. The Apache who live there today are descendants of the Athabascan family who migrated to the Southwest in the 10th century. The tribe is noted for its basketry, beadwork, and peridot jewelry. Local businesses include the Apache Gold Casino, peridot jewelry production, and jojoba bean oil manufacturing.
