Niverville is situated in the Rural Municipality of Richot, in the Red River Valley, 35 km south of Winnipeg on highway 311. It can be accessed either by Hwy 59 or PTH 200 and is about 80 km or 1 hour north of the Canada/U.S. border.

Niverville is the site of the first grain elevator in Western Canada built in 1879. The community still owes much to its agricultural roots, with many farm operations in the surrounding area.
