Known earlier as Athabasca Landing, the community is well-known today as "The Gateway to The North". A vibrant rural community, easy to live, work and relax in, the town is nestled in the picturesque Athabasca River valley, just 150 km north of Edmonton on Highway 2.

Programs, schedule of events, resources. Koch Ford Athabasca - Ford dealer with new and used inventory, financing, service and parts. Contains vehicle showroom and hours. Edwin Parr Composite School - Grades 8–12. Contains program information, school calendar, outreach and school council activities. Second Chance Animal Rescue Society - A volunteer-run, non-profit society dedicated to reducing the number of homeless and abandoned animals in northern Alberta. Contains mission statement, and available pets.
