The Ca de Bou is also known as the Perro de Presa Mallorquin, Mallorquin Bulldog, and Mallorca Mastiff. It was developed on the island of Mallorca in the 18th century as a fighting breed. The breed, once thought extinct, is being revived. It was recognized by the FCI in 1996 and is classified as a watch and guard dog.
