The Laekenois is a variety of Belgian Shepherd Dog with a rough fawn coat, with traces of black on the muzzle and tail. The Laekenois is the only Belgian Shepherd Dog variety not recognized by the AKC. There are three other varieties of Belgian Shepherd Dog: Groenendael, Belgian Malinois, and Belgian Tervuren.
