Softbills are small, flying birds that eat soft foods like fruit, nectar or insects, some species include tiny birds and amphibians in their diet. An exception of this rule are Lories and Lorikeets, which live on nectar and fruits but belong to the Parrot species and are not considered softbills. Most softbills belong to Class: Aves, Order: Passeriformes, Family: Passerines but not all of them, and some of the species are Non-Passerines. Some examples of softbill species are Broadbills, Manakins, Sunbirds, Honeyeaters, Starlings-Mynahs, Drongos from the passerines family and Hammerkops, Jacanas, Turacos, Frogmouths, Hummingbirds, Mousebirds, Hornbills and Toucans-Aracaris from the non-passerines.
