Syndicates are organized groups of individuals or companies who commit resources in order to provide the reserves necessary to offer insurance. Lloyd's of London employs many syndicates to back the insurance offered in its name. This category is not limited to Lloyd's syndicates, however.

It manages four in-house syndicates (587, 1084, 1096, 1176) and two third-party syndicates (1301, 3210), as a group covering lines for motor and personal, marine, non-marine, and nuclear. Beazley - Syndicates 2623/623 at Lloyd's. Focuses on writing specialty-risk insurance and reinsurance business in selected markets, such as marine, arts, jewellery, and corporate liability. Faraday Holdings Limited - Consists of Syndicate 435 at Lloyd's and Faraday Reinsurance Company. Business lines include aviation, property, casualty, and political risk. A division of General Cologne Re. The Watkins Syndicate - Lloyds syndicate 457. Specialises in the marine market with capacity provided by Munich Re. Products include cargo, energy, hull, satellite, specie, excess of loss, and war. Liberty Specialty Markets - Consists of two Lloyd's syndicates. Syndicate 190 focuses on property and treaty casualty insurance, while Syndicate 282 works with lines for reinsurance, war and terrorism, marine, and cargo. Subsidiary of Liberty Mutual. XL Catlin - An underwriter of specialty property/casualty insurance and reinsurance coverages worldwide. Consists of Lloyd's Syndicate 2003 and the Catlin Insurance Company, Ltd. CNA Hardy - The major participant and manager in syndicate 382, offering aviation, marine, and non-marine insurance at Lloyd's.
