This category deals with Accrington Football Club (1876 to 1896). In the season 1892/93 they finished fifteenth and were relegated after losing a test match game against Sheffield United. They resigned from the league rather than play in the second division. The club should not be confused with two later clubs, Accrington Stanley (1891) and Accrington Stanley. There is no connection between the three clubs.
