All Gardnerian covens trace their lineage and heritage to Gerald Brosseau Gardner, a retired English customs inspector who was co-founder of the first modern Craft coven in England, in the early 1950's. Many other Traditions have subsequently branched off from Gardneriansism; however, the original Tradition is still quietly alive and well, keeping to its charter of being the Hidden Children of the Goddess.
