Catholic Encyclopedia: Tryphon, Respicius, and Nympha
- St. Tryphon was a Phrygian gooseherd who was martyred in about 250, in the Decian persecution. His feast is 10 November in the West, 1 February in the East. A legend committed to writing in about 1005 names a certain Respicius as Tryphon's companion in martyrdom. Their relics were found together with those of St. Nympha, a virgin martyr from Palermo. Some believe that there were two saints named Nympha, one from the early fourth century, and the other of the sixth century.
