Pleasant Bay: Gampo Abbey - A monastery of the Kagyü lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1984, it is an affiliate of the Vajradhatu Buddhist Church of Canada and Shambhala International. The Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, previously Abbot of Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, is abbot and Pema Chödrön is resident teacher.
