Toastmasters International was founded in 1924 in Santa Ana, California. Each club in the United States is part of a District, which is usually divided into Divisions then into Areas. A few Districts include clubs from both sides of an international border, mostly United States and Canada. However, for ease of use, club web sites are ideally categorized by continent, country and state/province, following the Open Directory Project's Regional hierarchy.
