New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals - Manages, on behalf of the New Zealand Government, all oil, gas, minerals and coal resources it owns, known as the Crown Mineral Estate. It is part of the Ministry of Economic Development, an omnibus department dealing with a wide range of issues and industries. Callaghan Innovation - A government agency supporting hi-tech businesses in New Zealand. A mix of researchers, engineers, scientists, technologists, designers, entrepreneurs, advisors and administrators delivering self-help, on-demand services and tailored programmes. Environmental Protection Authority - Delivers robust, objective decisions on environmental matters, and ensures compliance with rules. Environment Court - Largely deals with appeals about the contents of regional and district plans and appeals arising out of applications for resource consents. The Environment Court sits in a number of courthouses in different parts of New Zealand.
