Sheffield and Rotherham Railway - A short railway between Sheffield and Rotherham and the first in the two towns. The railway opened in October 1838. Sheffield District Rail Rationalisation Plan - A series of linked railway civil engineering projects, station and line closures and train route changes that took place in and around Sheffield. The majority of these changes began to take place 1960's and ended in the 1980's. Tinsley Marshalling Yard - A near-derelict marshalling yard located near Tinsley. It was opened in 1965 as a part of a major plan to rationalise all aspects of the rail services in the Sheffield area, and closed in stages from 1985 with the run-down of rail freight in Britain. Wath Marshalling Yard - The yard was a large railway marshalling yard specifically designed for the concentration of coal traffic. Sheffield Victoria Station - The station was the main Sheffield station on the Great Central Railway (known prior to 1897 as the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway), between Chesterfield and Penistone. The station closed in January 1970. Woodburn Junction - A railway junction situated half way between Sheffield Victoria and Darnall. Woodhouse Railway Station - Formerly Woodhouse Junction.
