Hindley is a small town three miles to the east of the centre of Wigan in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester. Covering 1044 hectares and lying within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire, Hindley borders the towns of Ince-in-Makerfield, Leigh and Westhoughton, and has a population of 23,457.
