Ryde is a seaside town and the second largest urban area on the Isle of Wight, with a population of approximately 30,000. It is situated on the north-east coast. The built-up area is made up of the town centre, Binstead, Haylands, Swanmore, Weeks, Oakfield, Elmfield, Appley, Woodlands Vale and St Clare. To the east are Nettlestone and Seaview, to the south Havenstreet and Upton, and. to the west, Fishbourne, Quarr Hill and Wootton Bridge.
