East Allington, population 630, is an inland parish administered by South Hams District Council, which is surrounded by
Slapton to the east,
Blackawton to the north east, Halwell and Moreleigh to the north, Woodleigh to the west, then Buckland-Tout-Saints, Frogmore and Sherford to the south west, and
Stokenham to the south. The parish includes the hamlet of Harleston and Rimpston, and rural areas to the A381, from Halwell towards
Kingsbridge in the south west.
