Banaskantha district is in North Gujarat. Palanpur is the biggest town of the district. Banaskantha is dry in atmosphere. The desert is very near. The river Saraswati dissolved and ends into the desert. Banaskantha was known for its army camps during British rule. Some industries have come up in recent years.
