Sites relating to the professional development of teachers in elementary and secondary schools. A major intent of this category is to list opportunities which offer a stipend to the teacher (such as some summer programs) or which can be purchased directly by the teacher (such as university-type courses offered specifically for teachers) or are free to the teacher through any means other than employer-mandated workshops or meetings. In some areas, professional development only means workshops or classes offering "continuing education credits" or "CEUs." These would be appropriate to list here if they do not fall into the category mentioned below. Consultants, trainers and speakers who address whole groups of faculty at once, usually by travelling from school to school, are found in Reference/Education/Products_and_Services.
