Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval (CIIR) - The NSF funded CIIR at UMass Amherst carries out basic research and technology transfer in the area of text-based and multimedia information systems. Today, this Center represents an innovative and effective new model for more streamlined technology transfer, public/private partnership, and economic development University of Massachusetts Lowell - Center for Lowell History - The Center maintains subject-based collections as well as the records of the university. The site features collection descriptions and exhibits. Center For Geometry, Analysis, Numerics and Graphics - The Center is an interdisciplinary Differential Geometry research team in the Dept of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of UMass Amherst. Center for International Education - An academic program in the Department of Education Policy, Research and Administration (EPRA) in the School of Education at UMass Amherst. The Center for Manufacturing Productivity - A collaboration between the UMass College of Engineering and the School of Management to provide a comprehensive program of assistance to manufacturers. Center for Neuroendocrine Studies - The specific research interests of the members of CNS are diverse, and include the relationship of environmental pollutants to reproduction, the role of nutrition in determining fertility, behavioral and environmental influences on neurohormone production and hormonal response, sexual differentiation of nervous system and behavior, neuroendocrine control of circadian rhythms, and hormonal regulation of behaviors. Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (CEERE) - CEERE's four priority areas are; Industrial Resource Conservation, Renewable Energy, Envirotechnology, and Building Energy Conservation. Transportation Center - Serves, initiates, coordinates, and facilitates transportation research for the five campus University of Massachusetts system. Center for Computer-Based Instructional Technology (CCBIT) - The Center continues and builds upon collaborations between Computer Science researchers and faculty from other campus departments as well as researchers at the University's Medical School. Center for Rural Massachusetts - The Center was established at UMass in 1985 because a new set of problems had arisen in the rural part of the state, driven by rapid economic growth in urban areas, a widespread belief that uncontrolled growth posed a major threat to natural and built rural environments, major changes in the rural economy, and concerns about the welfare of rural residents. Center for Teaching & Faculty Development - The Center grew out of a desire among faculty and administrators to provide support for teaching at UMass Amherst.
