Boston College - Boston College is a coeducational university with an average student population of 8,700 undergraduates, 4,500 graduate students representing every state and 85 foreign countries. Founded in 1863, it is one of the oldest Jesuit, Catholic universities in the United States. Irish Studies Program - The Program offers MA and PhD degrees in Irish history and literature. It explores the diversity of Irish culture through academic and performance activities at the university and through links with Irish universities and institutions in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Maynooth and Belfast. Boston College Fine Arts Department - Art history, studio art, film and related links. Boston College Law School - The School is among the top ten in the country in application volume and has an overall applicant-to-acceptance ratio that is among the most selective in the nation. PULSE Program - Provides students with the opportunity to combine supervised social service or social advocacy field work with the study of Philosophy, Theology, and other disciplines. School of Nursing - The undergraduate program has always been noted for its focus on the development of the professional nurse, and is rooted in the liberal arts. Our graduates are noted for their clinical judgement. Recently, we developed a program for non-nurse college graduates who want to become nurses. They spend one year in pre-specialty education and then move directly into the master's program. Weston Observatory of Boston College - A geophysical research laboratory of the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Boston College. The Observatory is located in the town of Weston, Massachusetts, about 13 miles west of downtown Boston. Lynch School of Education - Endeavors to improve the human condition through education, and pursuing this goal through excellence and ethics in teaching, research and service. The Lonergan Institute - Established at Boston College to serve as a living memorial to Fr. Lonergan, by furthering "ongoing collaboration" -- the phrase he used for his own vision of the fruit of his work would bear in the natural and human sciences, philosophy, theology, and economics. Educational Resource Center (ERC) - Serves the resource needs of the School of Education faculty and students.
