Logic And Functional Programming Group - An independent interdisciplinary research group comprising members from six SFU units (Computing Sciences, Linguistics, Mathematics, Centre for Systems Science, Education, Engineering), two UBC units (Linguistics, Computinc Sciences), and from the University of Victoria and Aizu University in Japan. Toxlab - Environmental Toxicology Research Group - Located in the School of Resource and Environmental Management (REM). Halkomelem Ethnobiology - Provides information on the native peoples, plants and animals, language, dialects and communities, research methods, resources and information. Includes photos and videos. The Heron Working Group - A consortium of individuals from university, government and conservation organizations interested in the conservation of the 'Pacific' Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias fannini). Overview, about herons, publications and FAQs. Marbled Murrelet Recovery Team - Established in 1993 to plan the long-term conservation of these small seabirds that live along the northern Pacific Coast of North America. Provides examples of some of the types of research and monitoring that are currently being conducted. Biology, status, nesting sites, ecology and demography, population, map, photos and team members. Wildlife Behavioural Ecology - A collaboration with the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS), the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Office of Research Services - Assists SFU faculty in obtaining and administering financial support for their research via grants and contracts. SFU University/Industry Liaison Office - Facilitates the creation of new university-industry research and development partnerships and to commercialize the results of University-based research. Vice-President Research - SFU research matters. Responsible for the overall administration of research and for liaison with industry. CraterNet: Communications for Planetary Exploration - Overview, funding, Planet Net project, news, papers and map. Organic Mathematics Project - A collaborative research project involving researchers at the Centre for Experimental and Constructive Mathematics (partly supported by the University and the CECM, by the Centre de recherches mathmatiques (CRM), the TeleLearning Research Network, by University of Western Ontario, and by Waterloo Maple). Explores the emerging network and information technologies within the context of mathematics. Includes proceedings, overview, people, workshop, software development, documents and events. PlanetNet: Communications for Planetary Exploration - Focuses on the needs for exploration of Mars. Overview, Mars, chat, live video, developments, NASA Houghton-Mars project and Mars Society. SpaceSystems Group - Explores how to deploy distributed network computing in remote locations, to support collaboration between users, and access to powerful remote services. Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS) - Head office in SFU. Part of the federally funded Canadian networks of Centres of Excellence to develop advanced mathematical tools needed in a knowledge-based economy. Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group (SFP!RG) - Student-run organization to educate, inform, and support SFU students, and the community about various social, economic, environmental issues and to strive for justice in these areas.
