Hiziki (Hizikia) is a black, noodle-shaped sea vegetable. It has a briny taste and a nutty aroma. Hijiki is the Japanese spelling.

Marinaded Hijiki - Simple recipe using hijiki or arame, tamari or soy sauce, and rice, cider, or wine vinegar. Hijiki Seaweed Salad - Hijiki, celery, cabbage, and lettuce topped with a dressing made from mayonnaise, sesame seeds, lemon juice, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Chang Chang Hijiki Salad - Hijiki and shredded carrots stir-fried with white and black sesame seeds and seasoned with tahini and lemon juice.
