Massachusetts is often considered a rival to California as the top state for the study of computer programming in the United States. Many of its schools are second to none, though the "Route 128" technical area around Boston they support has become a clear second to Silicon Valley - though Lycos, Wang, Digital, and Polaroid home here, and West Coast companies maintain branches, skilled graduates often end up with jobs elsewhere in the country. Fortunately this category concentrates on the schools.
