Based on the 1968 film of the same name, the series portrayed two astronauts and their chimpanzee friend whose spacecraft has been marooned on a future Earth where humans are slaves dominated by intelligent, articulate apes. The series starred Roddy MacDowall, Ron Harper, and James Naughton.
