William (Bill) Boyd was born June 5, 1895 and died September 12, 1972. Best known as the cowboy hero, "Hopalong Cassidy," in radio, films, television, rodeos, and special appearances. His white horse was called "Topper," and his white hair and the black hat quickly became Hoppy's trademark look. Inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in 1995.
