Finnish composer Kari Tikka (1946-) studied oboe, conducting, and composition at the Sibelius Academy. He continued his studies in St. Petersburg, Salzburg, and Rome. Tikka has written various pieces for orchestra, stage, and voice. Among his noted works is Luther, which invites the audience to sing at certain points in the production.
