Twentieth century Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner (1959-) made his name as a film composer. He later produced other pieces for live performance and recording, including Requiem for My Friend and 10 Easy Pieces for Piano. His own favorite period was the Romantic and he especially liked Paganini and Sibelius, as well as the Polish Romantics.
