Mario Nascimbene (1913-2002) began his compositional work in Italy, scoring a number of films before coming to the attention of Joseph L. Mankiewicz, who got him to compose the music for the Bogart and Gardner film The Barefoot Contessa. He provided the music for the sometimes campy films Creatures the World Forgot, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, and cult favorite, One Million Years B.C., as well as more "serious" films.
