Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona (1896-1963) was an accomplished pianist and band leader. He wrote instrumentals, songs, and other vocal works, specializing in the Zarzuela. He also wrote ballets. His life ended in self-imposed exile in the United States because of anti-Castro beliefs.
