German Romantic period composer, conductor, and pianist Freiherr (Baron) Hans Guido von Bülow (1830-1894) studied piano under Friedrich Wieck and Franz Liszt and conducting under Richard Wagner. He produced piano transcriptions of others' works and produced several critical editions of other composers. He coined the expression of the "Three Bs of Composing--Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms." His own piano works include Iphigenie in Aulis Rêverie Fantastique and Tarantella Valse Caractéristique.
