Stanley Yelnats (Shila LaBeouf) is wrongfully accused of a crime and sent to a detention camp. There, he and other boys are forced by the warden (Sigourney Weaver) to dig holes as something of a "character-building experience. In actual fact, the warden is actually looking for a buried treasure.
