The Last Unicorn is based on the book by the same title by Peter S. Beagle (published in 1968 by Roc Trade). The film was directed by Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin Jr., and produced by Lions Gate. The movie was released in 1982; Mia Farrow, Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges, Christopher Lee, Tammy Grimes, and Angela Lansbury were among the voice cast.
